A pioneer of digital art in North Africa, Ahmed El Shaer is a New York based multi-disciplinary artist whose practice spans the mediums of installation, photography, sound, and the moving image with a particular interest in new technologies. His videos combine Machinima, stock footage, 3D animation and experimental soundscapes, and have been shown at international venues including the Venice Biennale, Bamako Biennale, Cairotronica, the Guggenheim Museum, the Museum of the Moving Image, and Casa Arabe in Madrid. A Fulbright alumni, with research work on game design and theory, Ahmed El Shaer is a PhD Candidate at Abertay University.
