NYAF in partnership with The Invisible Dog Art Center presents a series of live performances for the inaugural edition of the festival. The program will present visual artist Manar Abdelmaaboud presenting live painting, choreographer and dancer Nadia Khayrallah will perform her latest embodied research in the solo “Immortal Jellyfish”, and the spectacular Brooklyn Maqam music collective will present live music by their stellar musicians including Zahra Al Zubaidi, Sami Abu Shumays, Omar Dewachi, and Nezih Antakli.
At the breaking of the Ramadan fast at sunset (7:45pm), a small iftar meal will be available for attendees.
Afterwards, the evening will close with the live dance performance of the extraordinary choreographer and dancer Esraa Warda with her music band, presenting vivacious Algerian and North African dance and music.
Doors open at 5:30pm, and performances begin at 6:00pm.
Admission is free, with recommended donations of $20.
